Amber Grove Place has truly transformed in the best way possible! With some major staff changes recently, the entire environment feels more positive, welcoming, and well-run. A huge part of this shift is the new Executive Director, Stacey. She is incredibly kind, approachable, and genuinely cares about both the residents and the overall atmosphere of the community. You can see her attention to detail everywhere—the facility is consistently clean, organized, and comfortable. More importantly, Stacey is always thinking of creative ways to bring joy and meaningful experiences to the residents, which really sets this place apart. Another thing that stands out is how well Stacey collaborates with outside support services. She works seamlessly with home care agencies like Comfort Keepers to ensure residents can receive personalized 1:1 support when needed. That level of coordination and care makes a huge difference for families and residents alike. Caring for a family member can be one of the most stressful situations I have ever had to navigate. Making decisions that will affect the physical and mental well being of my mother are my number one priorities with regard to the health care facility tending to my mothers needs. Having worked in the Health Care field I'm fortunate to have an understanding of what those expectations are. From my first meeting with the director of Amber Grove to my initial tour I was impressed with the organization of the staff, programs and protocols. These are health care givers who are well trained and exhibit a genuine pride and concern for the residents at Amber Grove. My mother was a resident at Amber Grove for a few years. The business of caring for those in such a state is an impossible one. That said we couldn’t have asked for a more caring and compassionate staff who always did their best to keep her level of living and our peace of mind as best as possible. Our mother moved into Amber Grove Place about three weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier with it. The staff members are kind, caring and attentive. It was a big move for mom as she traveled all the way from Florida, but the management, executive director and care coordinators with all of their experience made sure the transition was seamless. I placed my father in Amber Grove due to his memory issues. From the start the staff was welcoming and informative. The community is very clean. This was important to me. It always smelled nice. This was an issue for me at other care homes. The rooms are always kept clean. The residents always look well cared for. The staff was always kind to my father. He was reluctant to do activities and the staff always made an extra effort to involve him. The activities are great! Something every day..morning and afternoon. Great Art projects and lots of music. They celebrate every holiday and make it fun for the residents. I never saw a staff member not be kind to the residents. Amber Grove is by far the best memory care facility in Chico. I highly recommend Amber Grove Place. It was highly recommended to me by my Mother’s Doctor as well as friends whose parents had received care there. My Mom loved it there and received the best care. In addition, the activities and staff were amazing, from bus rides to therapy animal visits, to art and walks outside, and music. It’s a relatively small facility so each resident gets attention and care. The staff formed a relationship with me and my family as well, which is an important piece of the complicated puzzle of memory loss decline. Everyone at Amber Grove is the best! They took such good care of my mom. Their activities are fantastic and they really personalize their care for each person. I would highly recommend Amber Grove!!!
